What keeps you in love with what you do?
The great people, clients, brands, companies I get to work with and the amazing places I get to perform, all over the world. I love the fact that every week is different and every performance is different it feels like I never do the exact same show twice which keeps things fun and interesting. I feel very lucky that I get to do what I absolutely love!
What song still teaches you something each time you sing it?
You don’t know me by Ray Charles. It evokes a different feeling every time I perform it. Sometimes it’s subconscious and other times when I really listen to the lyrics it makes me feel something totally different. These songs are special.
Best gift you’ve ever received?
My first keyboard. It was a Casio and was battery powered and only had around 20/30 keys. I remember it vividly and it clearly started me on a journey that has taken me through some amazing experiences in life and music.
What’s the soundtrack to your life lately?
It’s always an eclectic mix - depending on the time of day or what I’m doing. I love some jazz in the morning, but of 80’s rock for the gym and then my guilty pleasure is always Yacht rock (Michael McDonald, Toto, Steely Dan etc…) I like listening to music that has been suggested based on my original songs as well.
A creative you would love to collaborate with (dead or alive)?
That’s such a tough question as there are so many - Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder etc…I would also love to do a dual piano performance with Billy Joel and his band at his residency in Madison Square Garden in New York.
